Don’t cry for me, Aunty Tina: Navigating listening through decoding

In this talk the speaker will look at what kinds of phonological features teachers can usefully focus on, and exactly how this focus can be integrated into the lesson, using examples from Navigate.

Caroline Krantz lives in Oxford, where she works as a freelance ELT author. She joined the world of ELT in the early nineties, beginning with a two-year stint in Barcelona. From there she returned to the UK and worked as a teacher and teacher trainer at the Swan School of English, in Oxford, before becoming an author in 2005. She has since written various titles, including Students’ Books, Workbooks, Teachers’ Books and Teachers’ Resource Books in Spain and Poland. Most recently, she has co-written Students’ Books for Navigate, an international course for adults, published by Oxford University Press, and Reach Up, a new course (also published by OUP) for upper-secondary students in Spain, and How to Write Reading and Listening Activities, a book which forms part of the ELT Teacher 2 Writer training series.
